With the FCS season officially wrapping yesterday with James Madison winning the championship over Youngstown State, it’s time to look back at my preseason polls for not just the Mo Valley but also nationwide. It’s hard to predict how seasons will play out and how individual players will perform, so this is just for some laughs.

This season reminded me again, we never know what to expect in the Valley. Now here’s the national poll I submitted in early August.
I don’t know many in the preseason that could have seen what James Madison was going to do, interesting that I had JMU and Youngstown at 13 and 15 to start the year. We all can overlook putting Northern Iowa at 2, right?
