North Dakota State senior quarterback Easton Stick was named one of thirteen finalists for the William Campbell Award Wednesday, that goes to the top football scholar-athlete in the country. Stick receives an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship, he’s been invited to New York City for the award presentation in early December. The winner of the award gets the scholarship increased to 25 thousand. Stick graduated last December, and his now working on his master’s, where has a 4.0 GPA.
This latest award goes on top of what has been an amazing last calendar year on the field for Stick.
November 3, 2017 will go down as Stick’s worst game as starting quarterback of the Bison. Stick threw three interceptions and fumbled once as the Bison lost to South Dakota State, 33-21. The Bison haven’t lost since and Stick’s play has been a major reason why. I tracked his last 14 games, going back to the final six games of last season. His play has been Walter Payton Award-worthy.
