North Dakota State began its second week of spring football practice this morning, the second practice with pads on. There is still an adjustment going on for the players, but for the coaches as well as they adjust to players they haven’t seen before.
There are several players that have stood out early on in spring ball, Jackson Hankey continues to look the part at linebacker. Hankey is getting a majority of the reps at middle linebacker. Hankey played quite a bit last season and has earned Matt Entz’s trust on the field. Entz also brought up the wide receivers as a position group that’s grabbed his attention, that’s a position that has little to no experience. Redshirt freshman Zach Mathis is a player worth watching as Entz said he has “caught everything thrown to him.”
Jeff Kolpack and I recap things and also delve into the latest departure from the Bison men’s basketball team.
